Terms of use and subscription

This policy explains what data the Gecko IPTV app processes, for what purpose, and with whom it is shared. We keep collection to what the service strictly needs to work.

1. Data we process

Playlist credentials

To play your content, the app stores your subscription details (server address, username, Xtream password). They are kept on your device and synchronised to our servers (Google Firebase) so you can manage your playlists from a browser or another device. They are only used to reconnect you to your provider.

Device identifier

A technical identifier specific to your device links your playlists, your management code and your subscription to that device. It does not allow us to identify you personally.

PIN protection

If you protect a playlist with a PIN, it is never sent to our servers: it is kept locally, hashed, on your device only.

Subscription

When you subscribe to Gecko Premium, we keep the state of your subscription attached to your device identifier: status, expiry date, purchase channel (App Store, Google Play or web payment) and transaction reference. No payment card data passes through or is stored on our servers.

Diagnostics and usage

To improve stability and experience, the app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Analytics (anonymous usage statistics). This may include the device model, system version, app version and technical information about incidents.

2. Purposes

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your data. It may pass through:

We also use internal technical notifications to monitor the service (new device, subscription activation, errors). They contain a device identifier and are only accessible to the publisher.

4. Retention

Your playlists are kept until you delete them. You can remove them at any time from the app or the management page; deleting removes them from your device and from our servers. Subscription state is kept as long as needed to run the service and to meet accounting obligations. Diagnostic reports follow Firebase retention periods.

5. Security

Exchanges with our servers use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to playlist management relies on a code tied to your device. As no method is infallible, we recommend keeping your management code confidential.

6. Your choices

7. Children

Gecko IPTV is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data about them.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be signalled in the app or on this page.
